Computerized Surface Electromyography (SEMG) and Thermography now offered at Bayshore Chiropractic!
We are proud to offer this new exciting technology in our health center. Surface EMG gives us an objective measurement of your overall spinal health by detecting electrical activity in the muscles along the spine. This is a non-invasive, painless procedure. We also offer other computerized methods, such as thermography (shown in lower left photo above) and computerized inclinometry which analyzes range of motion.
What are the benefits of these services? First, we can see any abnormalities in muscle activity. Second, we can detect if your nervous system's control of blood flow (also called the autonomic nervous system) is working normally by checking skin temperature levels directly adjacent to the spine with our thermography infrared scanner. Third, this gives us objective data to go by when handling your case. Fourth, it gives us a baseline so we can see your improvement with chiropractic care.
The SEMG and thermography data are only part of your initial examination procedure. Also included is a one-on-one history/consultation, hands-on spinal and extremity (if needed) examination, and radiographic exam.
